The company’s origins can be traced back to the 1970s in Aberdeen, when George Craib and Aberdeen Road Runners Ltd operated as independent providers of haulage and courier services to the paper and oil & gas industries in the North East of Scotland. The two companies merged in 1983 to form ARR Craib Transport Ltd.
Eddie Anderson joined the company as a shareholder in 1985 and, working in partnership with George, a period of rapid growth and gradual diversification followed.
George Craib retired in 2008, after nearly 50 years in the haulage industry, leaving Eddie Anderson as the majority shareholder having been Managing Director since 1998. Eddie continues to be in daily charge of the company.
Today the Company has a turnover of £50million and operates over 250 vehicles and 500 trailers, with an exemplary record on safety and legal compliance. There are over 400 members of staff, many of whom have been with the Company for over 20 years.
Everyone at ARR Craib Transport Ltd is very proud of the Company’s past achievments and success, but are still highly ambitious and aspirational, and look forward to the challenges of the future.
