ARR Craib Transport is committed to making a difference in the communities in which it operates by supporting a range of charities and community organisations.
Friends of Anchor 20 for 20
2017 is a particularly special year for Friends of ANCHOR as it marks 20 years since the charity began – a charity with a vision to help make cancer and haematology care in the North-east of Scotland the best it can be.
To mark the 20th anniversary, Friends of ANCHOR has launched the ‘Dream Big’ campaign – its biggest fundraising appeal ever by pledging £1m to the University of Aberdeen’s ambitious £4.5m project to attract and recruit a world-class oncology research team to the North-east of Scotland. This will have a lasting impact on the care, treatment and wellbeing provided to local cancer and haematology patients.
The 20for20 voyage is Friends of ANCHOR’s milestone anniversary project which will contribute to this appeal and provide a platform for the public as well as artists, sponsors and partners to raise awareness of the charity and get involved in a creative and exciting way.
20 anchors have been individually designed and decorated by very talented local artists and are on display throughout the North-east of Scotland, Orkney and Shetland from July through to the end of October 2017.
The artists have poured their creativity and emotions into each anchor and we’re delighted to contribute to this appeal by sponsoring one of the anchors, ‘The Silver Darlings’ by Gabrielle Reith.
Wild Dolphins project
ARR Craib was proud to be the transport sponsor for the Wild Dolphins project in Aberdeen in 2014. We provided transport for life-size dolphin sculptures - all individually designed and painted by artists - to form an art trail across the city. All of the sculptures were auctioned at the end of the project to raise funds for the ARCHIE Foundation - a charity at the Royal Aberdeen Childrens' Hospital - and Whale and Dolphin Conservation.
Scottish Rally Championship
ARR Craib has been the title sponsor of the Scottish Rally Championships since 2013. The event comprises eight rallies in various locations across Scotland and culminates in the autumn when the driver with the most points overall will be awarded the ARR Craib Scottish Rally Championship title. The sponsorship builds on our previous involvement in Aberdeen’s Granite City Rally – one of the eight rallies in the championship.
